Damn you leo, just when I was just about to leave my house, you give me something else to play with. You have turned me into a "joiner" and it has been an eye opening experience. People are amazed what you can actually do on the web. Just a brief list of Leo induced joins- Vox, undo.tv, twitter, all my twit podcast feeds(so even when I leave the house, you still travel with me) Firefox, goowy, you tube(way back in the day when amber introduced it) Christ I even bought my Mac because of how amazing you made it sound.(Three years later my 12" powerbook is still kicking) Thanks for everything Leo, congratulations on your success and keep up the good work.
P.S When can I get my hands on one of those snazzy Nokias- I neeeed one.

Sounds like a good idea to me, Leo! Consolidation is normally good. It's better to try to put all posts in one place instead of having to go around to each individual site.
Leo quit pointing me to all these new places because I have run out of things to say. Remember I am boring. But if it's a new site you know I have to fiddle with the damn thing.

there needs to be a bumper sticker that read: "As I matter of fact, I do listen to what Leo Laporte says".

Yes I am another hopeless joiner.

Now all I have to do is wait for a tumblr t-shirt, I'll probably buy one of those.

Thanks for the link, Tumblr is exactly what I've been looking for. It's like a mix between Vox and Del.icio.us! I only wish Vox would include an RSS widget for the sidebar, so I could easily share my Tublr postings here.
Leo, if you really want to share what you are doing... check out SLIFE.
http://www.slifelabs.com/slife/

Then you can share everything you are doing.. and don't have to write a post to do it. It's a bit creepy... but still cool, in some sort of strange way.

Leo,

What do you find are the differences between Twitter and TumbleBlog?

Chris

Hey Leo,
I too am a "joiner" but that's the only way to find out what's good out there. I created a tumblr page too and so far, I like it. I like your tumblr url too; it's perfect. If you want to see my tumblr page, it's tysonhy.tumblr.com

~Tyson

Big differences between the two, IMO,....tumblr works super for coming across a link and saving it. But I don't use tumblr so much as a blog. twitter is fantastic for just one line updates and info from friends. It's probably my preference for info on what's happening to people and what people are up to.

Now I'll let the master answer, if he can spare the time.

I'm just the lady down the lane. Pay no attention to me ;-)

How do you find time for all of this and still get all of this done and still manage to do all of these podcasts, tv, and radio shows?!

What's the deal with adding an e-mail contact link on tumbleo when you don't answer e-mail? You're a tease, plain and simple.

Thanks for the tumblr.com recommendation.
Twitter is 140 characters - text and links only. It's good for a quick, what I am doing right now. It's also ephemeral - the links scroll away fast.

Tumblr is not exactly a blog. No commenting. Little text. It really promotes fast short posts.

Both twitter and tumblr lend themselves to quick, amusing, posts.

Vox, like any true blogging platform, encourages longer, more prosey posts. I use it for when I have something more detailed to say.

Leo, I am right there with you as being categorized as a "Joiner". I have my Twitter, Last.Fm, Del.icio.us, Flickr, Livejournal, Vox, and now Tumblr.

I too am going to have to find some time to integrate them all into each other. In the meantime... Thanks for one more thing to do. ;)
I love the tumblelog thing.

It doesn't sound cool when talking or writing about them, but I love reading them and having your own is like a fuller featured personalized "del.icio.us", with easy ability to post links, images, videos, along with regular posts and quick comments…

And rails applications are a beast to install — tumblr has made it easy and I even setup my registrar to point right at their server:

Just out of interest - why did you 'choose' MovableType as one possible solution for all-out intergration? WordPress seems to the engine most people are choosing. Keep up the posting, wherever it may be Leo :)

Just signed up for Vox and Tumblr ... just for fun ... thanks. (while listening to download of Leo on KFI ... life is truly good.
I saw a post somewhere about a "life feed", a combined RSS feed of your online life. Blog, twitter, flickr, del.icio.us, and so all.. in a single RSS feed...

Everything in RSS is timestamped, so combine it with GPS and you'll have an accurate record of your life. No need to go as far as Justin.tv.

Hey Leo et al. I made a Yahoo! Pipe for searching the Leo Zeitgeist.

http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.info?_id=MnN4_P7W2xGZbmaRnkartA

It's good for finding references to a specific topic in Leo's various outlets including the podcasts and Flickr.

It's like the life feed Craig mentioned but searchable.
