While Amber is gearing up for her new job at Citytv she's going to take four weeks off from our podcast, Inside the Net. That's the bad news. The good news is that Megan Morrone has agreed to fill in!

Many of you will remember Megan from her stint on The Screen Savers and as co-author of my 2004 Technology Almanac. She left TechTV in 2003 to have a baby (the lovely Annabella) and around a year ago had twin boys: Huck and Milo. As you might imagine, she's been pretty busy with the mommy duties, but she's kept her hand in by writing for microsoft.com and her blog, Jumping Monkeys. Until now, she's been too busy to show up on any of my podcasts (despite the fact that she lives less than a mile from the TWiT offices), but starting next week, Megan's back baby.

She'll start Tuesday when we interview John Buckman of Magnatune and Bookmooch on Inside the Net. And now that I've got her I don't plan to let her get away. Once Amber returns to the show (if all goes well that will be October 10) I'm hoping to create a podcast just for Megan.

So welcome back yet another TechTV veteran. We've missed her, and we're so glad she's back. And Annabella, Milo, and Huck, you can have your mommy back soon. But not too soon!

Thanks for everything you do leo, I have been an avid fan since The screen savers, and you have pointed me in the right direction so many times on the technology front, including Vox. I do not have alot of free time on my hands (I'm a chef) so podcasting and my ipod are my good friends. If you ever need any culinary advice let me know, and i will continue to trust you as my number one source for all things tech.

It'll be different not hearing Amber McCarthur for the next several weeks. I am sure she'll enjoy her time off, then her switch to CityTV. How does this affect your future with G4TechTV, Leo? However, being ths Screen Savers fan that I was 'back in the day' it will be awesome to have a great and familiar voice in Megan Morrone on the show. Looking forward to listening as always!

Amber leaving Call for Help doesn't change my status at TechTV. I'm contracted to do Call for Help at least through September 2007. We're actively looking for a new Canadian co-host. I really want to hire a woman for the job - otherwise it's quite the boys club - and we're more interested in people with tech expertise than TV experience. I expect we'll try some people out in October and with any luck we'll find a replacement by November. No one can replace Amber, of course, but I'm sure there's someone out there who can add to the show.

This is wonderful! I've missed Megan since she left TSS. I think Leo may be understating her importance on TSS, though... she was wonderful on screen and I think she was the beginning of the downfall of TechTV. The guys did a good job of trying to keep it going, but Megan was irreplaceable by any of the attempts - Sarah, Morgan, Cat, etc.

Actually, only Sarah 'replaced' Megan when she left The Screen Savers with the Download of the Day but not the Mac tips.

It's good to hear Megan is back. I figure with another person who knows tech and is of the fairer sex (I'm still a guy) is a good thing. Now there's Amber, Megan and Molly to go to on Twit.TV. Even John C. Dvorak can't be too cranky.

I was first thinking Megan was the new host of CFH, But I hope Megan becomes a regular member of tWiT.Tv, then when UndoTv launches We might be able to see her alot..On TV again..er IPTV?

But this is just too much great news! Techtv is back..and it already was back.

It is disappointing to hear that Amber won't be around as much and at the same time I am pretty excited about the changes and what is to come. Looking forward to what you have in store Leo.

It will be wonderful to hear Megan and enjoy her presence. You're quite right to find another podcast that Megan or Megan and you can do together. It's wonderful for Amber to move forward in her career and I wish her all the best.

Wonderful, Leo. It's been far too long of an absence for Meg. I enjoyed her on TSS. It's wonderful to get some TechTV alumni on your podcasting scence. Will Martin Sergeant be next? ;)
