Oh, how much I would give to get it back on the air. The Screensavers was a daily part of my life a few summers ago. The team worked well together, and I don't think that something we can get back, no matter how hard we try. You've done an awesome job Leo with setting up TWiT, and it greatly reduces the still open wound that G4 has caused me.
Leo, THANK YOU for posting that. What a great stroll down (Not All That Distant) Memory Lane. Like the fella said, "No, no, they can't take that away from me."
Ah, a day when a "tech" channel wasn't filled with segments about MySpace and filled with models who can't read teleprompters talking about the new Superman movie for the 1000th time.

I still think TSS had a really special personality that TWiT hasn't had since its first 20 shows (when it still had that ROTSS feel). I hope Chris P. takes this video idea to TWiT.
Wow... I'd nearly forgotten how good TechTV was. Tell me again why G4 shot themselves in their foot? Let's alienate the perfect demographic in favor of a bunch of kids with no real disposable income of their own.
AOTS is not a technology show: therefore it can't be compared to TechTV's TSS. TWiT's a roundtable pundit Silicon Spin-like show. That's why it's not called The Screen Savers. Also, Chris invited the TWiTs to Gnomedex, they never heard from him about TWiT since.
I still have the DVD that was included with Leo's 2004 almanac. I pull it out occasionally and cry. Ah, Morgan before she wasn't turned gamer, Yoshi, Megan, Jessica. You guys need to bring Yoshi onto TWiT sometime. Not sure what you'd talk about, but it's a good idea.
Great to see that promo! I didn't know youtube had old eps of TSS so I went and checked em out, there was one from 3-23-04 and they had Robert Herron on talking about 8x dvd burners for less than 200 bucks lol. I only had a 4x burner back then but I was laughing at the prices mentioned. Robert said his favorite was a Sony 8x for $141.00, Last year I picked up a Sony dual layer/dual format for only $49.99 at newegg :)
Morgan was always a gamer. And Yoshi knows he has an open invite to TWiT: he's still in Yoshi's forums but he seems busy with his new baby boy and job.
Comparing G4 to TechTV is like comparing rotten apples to ripe oranges.
I was always a huge fan of The Screen Savers, and it's a huge shame that G4 had to degenerate it to a mediocre "X-treme" cesspool. And mind you, this is coming from a huge gamer.
The Screen Savers played a big part of my life when it aired on TV. I was a modest computer user, and TSS got me so much more into computers and technology.

Ahh I miss those days, I found a bunch of TSS intros on a website. They take me back.

"word" Leo. "word".
G4 eats its young.

I miss it.
I remember that! Ah, Screen Savers, how we miss thee. TWiT is good, but we can't see Patrick in his kilt over the radio waves. ;)
(I finally convinced my husband to get a Utilikilt, since we're here in Seattle and could go straight to the retail store. He enjoys it.)
How neat! Thanks for sharing. So cool. :)

AOTS pales in comparrison.

I am still so thankful that my son and I were able to be in the studio audience for some of the final spring's episodes.
These were some times that are not likely to ever return. Ah...the memories!
Gee Leo, you really know how to pull at the heartstrings!!
I miss TechTV!
*sniffle* Long time ago when we was fab...

Great stuff... please post more!
I would like to see the original coming on sequence with the car.
While it may be true that G4 doesn't claim to be about Tech anymore, those of us who remember Tech TV know what we lost!
Awesome Leo! I hope you can find all the old promos and ads.
I have the ZDTV and TechTV startings saved on my computer but I'd love to find the promos.

Long forgotten, lost ripe oranges. :(
I would Tivo TSS. Wow, that brought back a lot of memories. Was that Patrick's convertable?
Sigh, I never even saw it and I miss it.
Ah memories...

Good to see you back if only in net form, Leo.
I remember when I first saw the show on digital cable... all these neat tips and tricks, and computer info...
The Screen Savers played a big part of my life when it aired on TV. I was a modest computer user, and TSS got me so much more into computers and technology.
In a response to Jacob, was that from http://markyville.com/techtv.html? Thats where I go for the intros.But anyway I want my Techtv back..{Crys}
