Leo, please don't stop TWiT! I look forward to it every week and it's a great source for tech news. Y'all are setting a standard for podcasting, or netcasting, or whatever you want to call it. I would hate it if TWiT "podfaded."

Your show means a lot to a lot of people.

TWiT is to podcasting (thats the term Im sticking too) what water is to fish. I have subscribed to many unsubscribed to most... but TWiT remains a constant. (look at profile - part of the TWiT army)

If you want some grumpy old man to replace Dvorak give me a call... albiet Im not old (well not that old) full of opinions, (although I admit a bit of Apple fan...) but cynical as hell get out....

hold the auditions.. open it up... there is a pool of talent out there... have a guest speaker from your fans every week... eventually you will have a large enough pool of talent out there you can have a panel any old time.

TWiT Rules!!
Seems to apply to me as well in some of my life situations

PS- Havent enough TWIT comments been made on the Twit site?

Let his blog rest
One can only assume this is in response to the overwhelming worries and concerns from the TWiT audience about your hint that the show might be retired.

If so: could you help us understand what you're thinking, and why it sounds like you're leaning towards this decision? You gave us a hint, but not much else to go on. All other signs from previous shows sounded like things were going well. Sure your panel shifts from time to time but that's understandable, it's part of the nature of this budding medium. You just scored advertising, you just opened a store with gear, heck - you were just voted netcasting man of the year!

I hope we aren't placing too much pressure on you, as history has proven that those in the public eye can sometimes have troubles dealing with their positions - though you haven't really shown many other signs of that type of trouble. But... we just want to understand. We love TWiT, for better and for worse. But if you're really convinced that something needs to change, we would love to learn and understand with you.

Hope all is well Leo. Thanks for all the incredible work you've done for us so far.

I am adding to the concerned voices of the TWiT army about this subject. I agree with the previous post completely, we just want to know what you are thinking whatever it may be. I know that that's all we wanna know.

In any case thank you for the years of you work.
TWiT should survive this. I think the prediction is referring to some of the current TWiT panelists. Leo, the sad truth is that I think some people didn't show up becuase they thought that since the TWiT panels have been so diverse, if they didn't show up, somebody else would. What's needed is a more consistent group of TWiTs.

Don't kill TWiT. That's all I have to say.
[this is good]
TWiT needs to be re:aligned. The concept still stands, the audience is listening, the design is sound. What TWiT needs, is to re:gain its consistency. I can imagine taping the passion of professionals with overbooked schedules can exhausting. Whatever the solution my be, I believe you have the wisdom to see this through.

I like to think this means that there should be ground rules set for panelists, if they ever want to be on TWiT, they must commit to appear for a particular episode. If they're going to commit to appear, there will be no "flaking out" allowed. These panelists often tend to be friends of Leo, so it may be awkward to set and enforce such rules, but its important for the life of TWiT.

eh...
I'm going to post here on the Vox Blog where there aren't 400 other comments and people behind them.
Here's the problem, as stated by Mr. Laporte himself.
"I gladly put in more time on the show than all the other TWiTs put together, but if the other TWiTs decide not to show there's not much I can do about it."
Those of you arguing about how everybody else is busy off doing their own thing, it's true. They are. Heck, as a new podcaster, I'm doing my own thing while listening to TWiT, and I'm sure that it would be seen that I'm merely "ripping off TWiT." Which I am very much trying to find my own way of doing things. But I'm not here to talk about me. People always want to do their own things. That's why we have so many podcasts on the TWiT network. If people were content with the status quo, we'd just have a seven hour long TWiT.
Besides, yea, so what if they are doing there own thing. They know it. We know it. Their stuff seems to be working. I personally prefer TWiT over dl.tv or Cranky Geeks but it's merely my own opinion.
The main issue is, there is nothing we can do about that. Mr. Laporte can try to get his friends to do the show weekly, but in the end it is up to them.
He even looks at his options.
"At this point I have a couple of choices. I could re-cast the show with people who will actually show up, but is it a TWiT without Patrick and John?"
I think what a lot of you are missing is that TWiT is not just an experience for the listener. Mr. Laporte and his fellow TWiTs have an entertainment stake in making it. It's really hinted here that the reason TWiT is fun is because his friends are there with him. Let us not forget that the pilot episode was just the core group, in a bar, hanging out like any of us would with our friends (except maybe the bar part for those of us who are underage).
So if the show wouldn't be as fun for Mr. Laporte with a different cast, and the current cast can no longer appear, perhaps it would be better for TWiT to be lain to rest, instead of dying slowly and painfully in what could be more Flame Raids that I have seen in the occasional past episode.
Now, perhaps I've completely missed the point of Mr. Laporte's comments, and I will admit it is very possible. One can never read the tone of an online message. It's all guesswork.

Horoscopes are a bunch of superstitious crap! How about that for a comment.

(plz don't stop twit :( )
I love TWIT! Please don't kill it - it's the reason I baught an iPod! Gx

<aol>me too</aol> But seriously, TWiT is amazing, and I listen to it religiously. Heck, I don't even take my religion that seriously. :)

I hope what you need to happen, happens.

With the advertising revenue from Visa and Dell( which even if it was chicken feed) use it to pay some of the guys for their time. So much $$ for an hour of time on the weekend. That doesn't sound bad. Besides, I think you Leo can make Twit with any group of guys that have a good understanding and good sense of humor of the material. The people that just want to hear the screensavers, just have them go to youtube. Change in inevitable, it's a part of nature. I say let the show evolve and let the chips fall where they may.

Another loyal Twit listener since numero uno. (which wasn't even called Twit then).
I hope things work out the way you want them to.

Best of luck.
I saw that myself and thought it was oddly fitting for something I was going through as well. Fortuantely, I have little faith in horoscopes (yet still read them every day...).
I think the moral is, we love what you do, and we will follow you to your next idea. I think alot of people just love that fact that we can almost relate to you guys in a conversational way now. If TWiT does go the way of the Screen Savers, alot of people, including me, feel like they will be losing a chance to hang out with friends every week. Hopefully the new hang out will be just as awsome.

Leo - not to tell you what you already know (I guess sometimes we need to hear from others) that it's your personality and your expertise that keeps us coming back for more. As many others have posted, you have introduced us (your fans) to many things in tech which has made us experts in our own worlds. Most of us are listening to TWIT to hear you with a panel of guests and are never disappointed with the ever changing panel. I'm sure there are many in the talent pool so please continue the hard work as it is appreciated. P.S. - did anyone ever make claim to Patrick's box of junk?
