My Head's Bout To Splode
Is there a 12-step program for podcasters? It seems like I can't stop!
We have nine podcasts on the TWiT.tv network. We cover tech news, the Internet, security, gadgets, open source, biotech, media, computer help, and the Mac. What's missing from this list?
A Windows Vista podcast, of course. I've got a really good host in mind. He's agreed in principal, and I expect we'll launch when he gets back from vacation in early September. You're going to love this one.
And my off hand comment on TWiT a few weeks back about how we need a podcast covering the myriad legal issues surrounding copyright, net neutrality, privacy, and security, stimulated an avalanche of mail from interested lawyers. Denise Howell says she's willing to host - she's perfect for the job - and I think we'll be launching this roundtable in the next few weeks.
So that's three more podcasts coming soon to TWiT.tv. I can't promise I'll stop, but I do think we now have a pretty well rounded offering. You know why I'm doing all this, don't you? I want to be on the cover of Business Week just like Kevin!
"Tom Cruise's doughier little brother" will join us this week on TWiT, by the way, so we can rib him about the cover. Cory Doctorow will be on, too, now that's he's back in the States. Should be a good show.

Woo! Audio MacBreak! I enjoy watching it, but since I only have an iPod nano, I can't watch it on the go. Nice to see (or hear, rather) that it's getting an audio version.
MacBreak weekly sounds cool, but you should also court macosken.com's Ken Ray to bring his daily news summary show to MacBreak. He'd make a great addition.
I just put this on Digg. I was surprised no one had dug it yet. I comment on my digg that Kevin's Mom is going as many copies as she can get. How many times does a son get on the cover of Business Week in their lifetime?
No more! I can only find time to listen to TWIT, SN, and ITN plus one other podcast. I do not know how you find the time to do all of these.
I thought I was the first one who dugg it. Apparently someone did almost 24 hours ago. I am surprised it hasn't hit the front page on digg. It had 4 or 5000 diggs already.
Maybe Kevin is trying to keep a low profile.
a weekly audio MacBreak might be a good idea - but it's one arena (Audio Mac Podcasts) that you're going to have some serious competition. Though if you can get a team together than can talk about the legal aspects of the tech industry with the clarity of Alex and the boys talk about media... sign me up. (in principle)
I'm looking forward to Cory on the show... please tell us you're going to get a topic going between him and Dvorak to gnaw on.
Wow, great news, I can't wait for a weekly version of MacBreak, it'll be on my list of recommended podcasts.
Leo, You've watched way too much "I Love Lucy" back in the "olden days"!
Me Too! Haha!!
My family went on vacation this year but I couldn't go because I had to stay home and get caught up on podcasts.
Can't wait! I love everything you put out!
Keep the podcasts coming!! I grab just about everything you put out at this point (Just started Inside the Net which led me to Vox). I'm bummed I never really watched the ScreenSavers while it was on, but I guess that's what YouTube is for at this point.
I would love to hear a Vista podcast!
Wait..ok I know this is going to sound like I am a Apple/Linux fanboy, which I am but you already have a Winsdows podcast,Security now!Ok Sarcasm aside just sit down and take a break from podcasting,I try and watch all of the Techtv allumi's podcasts,I barely watch tv,but theres really not that much on Tv anymore....
You know Leo, you don't always have to host every podcast. Just sit back and let the network run itself.
Yay! :D Super-dooper news! :D
Well unlike some of the other comments, I've all the time in the world for my favorite group of people, and therefor I would be 2000% excited about a Vista podcast!
Sounds great, Leo! MacBreak Weekly will be a must listen. Maybe I need to add another hour or two of exercise each week. Keep adding shows and I'll be in the best shape of my life!
Vista podcast... meh... ;-)
LOL! How many clones are there of you, Leo?
Good God Leo!!! Are you crazy?! Thats like... a buttload of podcasts! So much media... so little time...
I've been straining to keep up with all of your podcasts for a while (and i've been doing a pretty good job if I might add) but this is insanity.
Good luck with the new podcasts, I'll be looking forward to them. :)
I have been waiting for an auido MacBreak. i listen to TWIT, Tech Guy on KFI, dl.tv, and cranky geeks during my long commute. I always want to listen to/watch macbreak but I can't find the time. I can't wait to add that to my commuting podcast. This is great!
Keep up the good work Leo!
Thanks for taking my call on "The Tech Guy" yesterday. I can now check off "Talk to Leo Laporte" on my "Things to do in my lifetime" list.
Heil MiniLeo!!!!
Love all the podcasts. Now I need to get a terabyte drive to keep and archive all the radio leo podcasts. Now when does the terabyte Ipod Video come out. I'm sorry what's that Steve...oh they already have it designed but arn't releasing til 2010. Figures!!
I'm digging all the podcasts Leo. I'm just happy you like it enough to keep coming up with content. I'm hooked on TWiT, Inside the Net, Security Now and FLOSS, and I'll tell you that one of the most interesting is biotech, since it isn't technically a science show, but has sort of a William Gibson-esque edge to it. Very original.
Thanks.
Personally I am not interested in the Mac show but I'm sure there are many who are. Now the other two shows Vista and Legal I would signup for. Where I'm going to get the hours in the day to listen to these I don't know, but I'll figure it out some. Probably just less time for KFI The Tech Guy.
