This is excellent news that his family has been found safe and sound. Now we just to find James himself.
This is such good news. Finding them should make it easyer to set up a radius to find James. Less of a needle in a haystack.

wonderful news about kati and the girls. hopefully its just a matter of time before james is found safe himself.

Thank Goodness! Hopefully they'll find James soon.
It is such good news that they found the family, and I hope that they find James soon.
Yeah - that's great - at least so far. You know, when this is all over one way or another, there's a technology story behind this. Most people travel with cell phones, gps, etc., and it's curious what part of that failed and got them into so much trouble. I hope we get to hear from James himself about 'what he wished he had brought with him' that might have avoided all this...
Missing nine days and burned their tires for heat. Wow - I'll have to remember that. I hope they have good luck finding James too.
My god. This reminds me of an episode of the Discovery Channel's "I Shouldn't Be Alive". Nearly the exact thing happened to a family on that show.

that is great news!
I hope that James is also found soon.

Hi, Leo,

As Greta Van Susteren began her show tonight (10 p.m EST, 7 p.m. PST), she mentioned that James Kim's wife and children have been found and are OK. They are being treated for at a nearby hospital. But so far, no sign of James.

I remember James from your TechTV days. I always enjoyed watching him explain new tech gadgets. James' move to CNET has improved that site considerably.

I pray that James survives this ordeal and will be found soon.

My prayers are with James and his family, both for their health and his safe return. I've also asked my blog readers to add him into their prayers as well. Us geeks have to stick together, and he is one of the best among us.
I glad that Katie and the children are okay. I do hope for the safe return of James.

Nancy Grace on CNN Headline News has been covering this in great detail. Kati and the kids were reported to be in great condition for having been missing for so long. I pray that we find James safe and sound.

Brilliant news, so great to find that they're ok - just got to keep our thoughts on James now.

I only just read this entire story tonight and when I realized they were writing about James Kim from Tech TV I was just taken aback in shock. I am so happy for his family but of course I hope and pray he is found in good health right away.

This was on Dec. 5th's CTV National News with Lloyd Robertson... ctv.ca

It is 12:50 p.m. PST. FoxNews just carried an announcement about the discovery of James Kim's body. That is very, very sad news. FoxNews will report additional information as the day goes by.

My prayers are with James and his family.

My condolences to his family and friends.
Sometimes God has to break our hearts to prove he only takes the best.
As a loyal TechTV watcher I feel like I have lost a friend. Leo, I cannot begin to imagine how you and the rest of the TechTV staff feel. I just wanted to say I share your pain.

Leo,

I am sad about the news of your friend, James Kim, and offer my sympathies to the Tech TV gang, his co-workers and work family at CNET, and of course, my condolences to Kati, her kids, and to the immeditate, and extended families of Kati and James.

Stan

Our sympathies on the loss of your friend James. We were so hoping he would be found alive. Our prayers go out to his wife, daughters, family, and friends.

I have been so sad all day...all afternoon long...we held such hopes...the TechTv family really was stronger than I thought...whether we travelled to state fairs to meet Patrick and Leo...or watched Erica Hill or Sumi Das on National news programs or Sarah Lane on Current off to discover the world...everyone from the station has made an impact on us...James showing us how photo printers worked with Penelope's newborn face...was as vivid this week as when it happened 4 years ago...I truly feel I have lost someone dear...
I just posted my own thoughts before coming to your site, Leo. I was very saddened to learn the latest events. You and all of his friends and family have my sympathies.

That's so sad that James didn't make it...he gave everything he had trying to save his family.

Leo: I'm a friend of Greg Drebin's, and was a long time fan of Fresh Gear and zdtv/tech tv. I feel so badly for you all who were close to the Kims. My condolences.

I heard the news from my wife while I was working out of reach of my computer. I just paused..... My wife said how sad. If only she knew. I am a loyal techtv watcher since zdtv. I watched James on there and on CNET when he moved when the G4 crap happened. For some reason as I have seen so many people post...this guy..It seemed like I knew him. So when I found out he was missing I was freaked out. I followed this story on every site I could find it..Digg.com, leoville, chris pirillo, and engadget seeing if here were any updates. I live in Vancouver,WA so I know the terrain where they were lost and to tell you the truth..I was not feeling good about them being found. I think this story has affected me so much more since I just had my first child in September and I can tell you I would litterally chew my own foot off to save my child. When his wife and 2 babies were found my heart soard and I just knew James would be found. When I found out the reality my heart sank to the ground...So James....I'm not a religious man..but if there is a heaven you are there my friend. You touched so many people whether or not you knew it.
Just saw on the news while visiting my Grandma. Wanted to post when i got home. It is sad that he did not live. I hope the best for his family. God bless them.

Asked you a question
I didn't need you to reply
Is it gettin' heavy?
But then I realized
Is it gettin' heavy?
Well I thought it was already as heavy
As can be

Is it overwhelming
To use a crane to crush a fly?
It's a good time for Superman
To lift the sun into the sky

'Cause it's gettin' heavy
Well I thought it was already as heavy
As can be

Tell everybody
Waitin' for Superman
That they should try to hold on
The best they can
He hasn't dropped them
Forgot them
Or anything
It's just too heavy for Superman to lift

<3 to Kati, Penelope, Sabine, and family... and to everyone touched by James. He truly was a Superman.

This is so sad. My condolences to you, Leo, and James' family.
